In the Official State Gazette (BOE) of Wednesday, July 31, the ‘Extract of the Resolution of the Secretary of State for Education, calling for the III National Awards for Inspiring Educational Experiences for Learning 2024’ has been published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Database of Grants.
The Provincial Director of Education, Juan Ángel Berbel, stressed that “there are different reasons why it is appropriate to identify, gather and disseminate Educational Experiences”. In this regard, he has indicated that they “enable learning from others; facilitate and promote innovative, successful and sustainable solutions to shared problems; build bridges between effective empirical solutions, research and policies; and provide excellent guidance for the development of new initiatives and the definition of policies.”
This call will be open to teachers from educational centers throughout the national territory, supported with public funds, who provide official non-university education and who have fully developed an Educational Experience during the 2023-2024 academic year.
Features
The experiences presented to this call must have the following characteristics:
• That they use digital Open Educational Resources, free of charge, that are in the Public Domain, or that are published with an open license that allows their reuse, modification and redistribution.
• To integrate digital technologies in a new way to improve the learning process of students.
• To contribute to the development of the digital competence of students.
• That they can serve as inspiration for other schools to replicate and/or adapt to their context.
Awards
Twenty-eight prizes distributed in six categories and two modalities are awarded on a competitive basis. They will consist of a financial endowment for the person who has developed the awarded Educational Experience and an individual invitation to attend the award ceremony of the A modality. Likewise, a financial endowment will be granted, to be distributed equally among the members of the team (maximum 4) that presents the awarded Educational Experience, with two individual invitations to attend the award ceremony for the modality.
The maximum amount intended will be 119,300,000 euros.
The prizes in individual mode will be 4,000€ the maximum and 2,000 euros the minimum and in team mode the biggest prize will be 4,800€ being the smallest prize of 3,000€ depending in both cases on the category.
The invitations to the ceremony will be considered aid in kind, the maximum amount of which will be 550 euros, which will include travel expenses, return from the place of origin to the place of celebration of the event, expenses of accommodation of the awarded person, breakfast and promotional material.
Submission of requests
The deadline for submitting applications will be 15 working days from September 2, 2024.
A single application for Educational Experience presented as a prize will be formalized, both in modality A (individual) and in modality B (team). In case of doing so in the latter, only one of the participating teachers, considered as the team representative, will formalize both the request and the required documentation and the others will adhere to it. However, all will have consideration of applicants in this call and, therefore, they will have to meet the requirements indicated. Each applicant will only be able to present a single Educational Experience to this call.
The representative of the team will be the reference contact for the purposes of subsequent communications with the National Institute of Educational Technologies and Teacher Training.
