The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) has published the curricula and organizational aspects for the basic, middle and higher level training cycles and Vocational Training specialization courses.
These curricula modify the old orders following the novelties included in the new Organic Law on the Organization and Integration of Vocational Training, such as the incorporation of the modules of “Sustainability” and “Digitalization”, applied to productive sectors, as well as the module of “Intermodular Projects”.
As explained by the Provincial Director of our city, Juan Ángel Berbel, the module of “Training and Employment Orientation” will be replaced by an itinerary for employability, both in the first and the second year of the Middle and Higher Degree cycles.
Likewise, I have highlighted as a novelty the incorporation of training hours in workplaces from the first course provided that the student is 16 years old. The well-known FP Dual, which allows the student to receive a training in the educational center and at the same time put into practice what they learned in a work center.
The Provincial Director has pointed out the modifications that the MEFPyD has undertaken to put “at the center of political action the person and his need to qualify and stay updated throughout his life”. The normative development has been carried out through Royal Decree 659/2023, of 18 July, which develops the organization of the Vocational Training System and in accordance with Organic Law 3/2022, of 31 March, on the organization and integration of vocational training.
The new curricula will begin to be applied in all training cycles of the next academic year 2024/2025.
