.Thanks to an investment of 55,000 euros from the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD), the IES ‘Enrique Nieto’ has launched a technological classroom adapted to Vocational Training (ATECA).
The Provincial Director of Education, Juan Ángel Berbel, and the Director of the educational center, Joaquín Carrillo, accompanied by representatives of the educational field of the city, have presented to the media this classroom that is going to represent a modern space that responds to the needs of the training cycles.
“It has a laser cutter, a 3D scanner, computers of all kinds, virtual reality glasses, recording space, 3D printers… that is, it has modern resources for what should be a modern FP and adapted to modern times,” said Carrillo.
As Berbel explained, among the actions of the Modernization Plan of the FP that are framed in the component 20 Strategic Plan of Impulse of the FP, of the Plan of Recovery, Transformation and Resilience (PRTR), is the “Conversion of classrooms into spaces of applied technology”, the so-called “ATECA Classrooms”, with which “work environments will be recreated using technological resources to allow students to approach technologies that they will then find in companies, simulating a real work environment”.
330.000 euros for these classrooms
According to him, the milestone defined by the MEFPyD was the conversion of a total of 206 classrooms and later it was expanded to 1,253 classrooms nationwide. Melilla has been awarded 6, with an allocation of 55,000 euros for each one.
The first was for the CIFP ‘Reina Victoria Eugenia’, granted with credit of 2021; for the IES ‘Enrique Nieto’, ‘Juan Antonio Fernández’ and ‘Leopoldo Queipo’, with credit of 2022; and this course has been granted the classrooms of the IES ‘Rusadir’ and the IES ‘Miguel Fernández’.
“The Provincial Directorate has contacted all the educational centers with different suppliers of the peninsula, which have supplied centers, to concretize the acquisition of this to other equipment,” he said, referring to the systems of immersive realities, virtual reality, holographic systems, artificial intelligence or 3D printers, among other technological innovations.
As he has reported, for the moment, only the IES ‘Enrique Nieto’ has exhausted the 55,000 euros and the CIFP ‘Reina Victoria Eugenia’, which has already reformed the space and is only at the expense of receiving the latest files on hiring technological equipment, is going to be launched. While the rest of the centers are in the middle of enabling spaces for their implementation.
