The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, has thanked the 29 men and 12 women of the XXXVIII Promotion of the Basic Scale of the National Police who during the last 11 months have been carrying out their practices in our city.
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in Melilla, together with the Superior Chief of Police, José Antonio Togores, and the Regional Chief of Operations, José Ángel Sánz, participated in an event hosted by the Government Delegation as a farewell to these agents last Friday.
“It is a special day, you have finished your internship, because you have provided services, here in the city, so the first thing I have to do is congratulate you. Congratulate you on this year, congratulate you on your dedication,” he said.
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city has stressed that the profession of Police is very vocational and that it is at the service of citizens. “Being a policeman feels, it takes you in from the moment you put on your uniform”, he stressed and pointed out that it is something he has been able to see throughout his six years at the head of the Government Delegation how the women and men of the body feel the profession and are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“That is why I want to congratulate you, to congratulate you on having chosen this profession, such an important profession, because thanks to you all citizens can enjoy our rights and freedoms and, above all, feel more secure,” said Moh.
The head of the Government Delegation stressed that the promotion has taken very good advantage of their training in the city, “I am sure it has been very fruitful and productive”, but also that many of them -31 of the agents in practice are from different parts of the country- has served to know one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, as is ours.
“I am convinced that you are always going to carry a piece of Melilla in your heart and that you are going to be great ambassadors of our city,” he said, while assuring them that the city will always have its doors open, either professionally or whenever they come to visit.
Finally, he wished them the best of luck in the new stage, much success in their professional career, and asked them, in the new destination, to have “the same desire, the same work, and the same intensity”.
