Although San Juan is not in a week’s time, the Polyvalent Center of Services for Elderly People of the Imserso celebrated yesterday afternoon, -San Antonio festivity - by all heights the arrival of the summer solstice, in which residents, relatives and workers of the center enjoyed a day of good music, delivery of trophies and, of course, a good candlestick.
The Center, popularly known as the Residence of Elders, prepared a snack for the residents and their relatives, which was enlivened by the songs of Lola Padial, and which, in turn, served for the delivery of the bands of the contest of ‘miss’ and ‘mister’ as well as the trophies of the championship of parcheesi and domino, which were held last week.
The Imserso enabled a Photocall, thanks to which, he recreated the beach in the center itself, a painting workshop for the little ones, and installed a box of wishes so that, as tradition marks, all those who participated yesterday in the celebration could write on paper their requests to later burn in the fire. The candlestick, which put the brooch to an afternoon of meeting and fraternity, had been made by two of the residents of the center.
The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, in her speech before the attendees, recalled that, six years ago, her first act as head of the Delegation of the Government was precisely the celebration of San Juan in the Residence of Senior Citizens, so she thanked that, “allow me, one more year, to share this beautiful and so endearing party with everyone.”
The highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city conveyed words of thanks to all the people who have made it possible for this celebration to take place: to the Director of the Imserso, Veronica Aznar; to the director of the Center, Ibrahim Molina; to the entire management team “for the work they do every day, and above all, for the work they do on this special date” and to the workers of the center “for enthusiasm, dedication, work and professionalism, you are the true motor of this center.”
“To all of you, thank you also for your work, for your patience, but above all for the empathy, for the understanding and for the way in which you have to take care of our residents,” he told them.
In the chapter of thanks Moh also had words for the relatives “to share this special afternoon and to enjoy this day of meeting that is prepared with so much enthusiasm”. And, of course, for the residents, “the real protagonists”, of whom he stressed “give us, every day, lessons to all staff and to all citizens in general, lessons of patience, understanding and, above all, life lessons”.
“All the work that is always done is for and for your well-being,” he assured the elderly, to whom he stressed that “we will continue to improve all services, so that you can continue enjoying this, your home.”
