The Territorial Directorate of the National Institute of Health Management (INGESA) informs that, from next Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the nurses of the Health Area of Melilla who have been accredited, may begin to indicate, use and authorize the dispensing of medicines, in the terms established in Royal Decree 954/2015 of October 23, which regulates the indication, use and authorization of the dispensing of medicines and health products for human use by nurses.
The National Institute of Health Management has adapted its information systems, to allow the issuance of nursing dispensation orders (ODE) as established by Royal Decree 954/2015, of 23 October, which regulates the indication, use and authorization of the dispensation of medicines and health products for human use by nurses.
On the other hand, the pharmacy offices of the Health Areas of Ceuta and Melilla have adapted their computer applications to make it possible to dispense these orders, through the electronic prescription system.
The tests carried out between the pharmacy offices and INGESA have demonstrated the compatibility of both information systems for the start of the dispensing of ODEs.
In INGESA, nursing professionals who meet the requirements and have been duly accredited may begin to indicate, use and/or authorize the medicines and medical devices provided for in the regulations in force from April 23.
