The Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) of Melilla has reported that today, Friday, April 12, the Ordinary Process of admission of students for the 2024/25 academic year has started.
As reported by the Provincial Director, Juan Ángel Berbel, the deadline for the submission of applications will be open until May 2 and the recipients are the students who are incorporated for the first time into the educational system -born in 2021-, who choose a secondary school different from the one assigned in the process of secondment or who want to change schools to attend the same or another education.
For the accreditation of the fulfillment of the requirements of schooling the ID, passport or NIE of the student (compulsory from the age of 14), and of the parents/guardians on both sides; the family book that shows all the members of the family unit; and the certificate of full family collective registration (compulsory in case of having ID/NIE), certificate of residence issued by the Social Services or residence accredited by other means of proof admitted in Law.
For the purposes of baccalaureate, the interested parties may provide proof of income, proof of work at the school, proof of disability, proof of gender violence, for victims of terrorism, proof of transfer of the family unit due to forced mobility, certificate of large family, proof of single-parent family, certificate of foster status, certificate of multiple birth, certificate of the status of a high-level sportsman.
The Provincial Directorate points out that it is important to take into account when applying for a school place the decision on the requested center as the first option since the scale that the center performs will be the one used for second and subsequent options.
In the case of students who enter the first year of Baccalaureate, in the event that the demand is greater than the total number of vacancies, the award of the same for those who have not obtained a vacancy in the first phase of the regular procedure, will occur by increasing the number of initial vacancies.
The processing of applications, while the citizen support point is placed in UPE-Formación, in Barrio Victoria (c/Paseo de Ronda) for the electronic processing of applications, can be presented on paper in the educational centers where a place is requested.
In application of article 28.2 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, the information provided in this application on the income, physical, psychological or sensory disability sections of any of the members of the family unit will be consulted by electronic means, except if it expressly opposes the consultation.
