“Dual Vocational Training (FP) becomes a reality in Melilla with the collaboration of local companies and the involvement of teachers”. The Provincial Director of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD), Juan Ángel Berbel, referred to the importance of the implementation of Dual VET in the autonomous city.
In the inauguration of the day on Dual VET, organized by the Provincial Directorate and taught by Caixa Bank Dualiza, aimed at all Vocational Training teachers, he pointed out that common objectives have been established with the collaboration of this Foundation to promote, disseminate and cooperate in its implementation.
“These actions are going to be carried out under the supervision of a monitoring and control committee formed by members of both parties who will have regular meetings,” explained Berbel at the beginning of this workshop, which aims to inform teachers about this new model of vocational training. “Doubts about general and intensive VET regimes will be clarified and the process of developing a dual vocational training project will be worked on in a practical way,” he said.
The Conference, which is being developed by the CIFP ‘Reina Victoria Eugenia’, has three professionals recognized at the state level: Francisco Javier Garrido, director of the business area of Ceuta, Melilla and Málaga interior of Caixabank; Eva Aguado, territorial coordinator of the south center of Caixabank Dualiza; and César García, expert consultant of Dualcom. The workshop has had more than 100 teachers who have confirmed their attendance at the event.
Through this initiative, the MEFPyD wants to reduce the gap between the educational and business fields, in order to achieve greater integration between the knowledge acquired in the classroom and its implementation in the world of work. Berbel has expressed that the professional families that currently have a higher rate of insertion are those of computer science and communications, along with those of commerce, marketing, or socio-sanitary cycles, among others, which also has many outlets.
