Yesterday, the Government Delegation hosted meetings with all the directors and directors of the Centers for Children and Primary and Secondary Schools to address the modification and improvement of the Protocol for the Accompaniment of Trans Persons*.
The meetings, led by the head of the Government Delegation, Sabrina Moh, were attended by the President of Chrysallis, Fidel Martínez; the Provincial Director of Education, Juan Ángel Berbel, and the Head of the Educational Programs Unit (UPE), María Victoria Menchacatorre.
These meetings have served to address the modification and improvement of the protocol as a result of the publication of Law 15/2022, of July 12, comprehensive for equal treatment and non-discrimination and of Law 4/2023, of February 28, for the real and effective equality of trans people* and for the guarantee of the rights of LGTBI people.
Some meetings in which the aspects incorporated into the new protocol have been made known, while at the same time they have served to share those aspects that the directors and directors have put on the table, from the perspective of the educational centers, which can be included for the improvement and enrichment of this protocol, in order to improve such important aspects as tolerance and respect.
Once the document is finished, training sessions will be held, organized by the UPE of the Provincial Directorate of Education in collaboration with the Government Delegation and Chrysallis Melilla, aimed at teachers in order to publicize this tool.
