The Social Center for the Elderly has inaugurated the Patron Saint’s Festivities for another year. The Delegate of Government in Melilla, Sabrina Moh, together with the Territorial Director of the Imserso of the city, Verónica Aznar, have attended the opening of the ‘Rincon de la Alegría’. This house has hosted around a hundred users who have not wanted to miss the first activities they have offered in this space.
Moh and Aznar have expressed the relevance of being present this day. “The elderly are the engine of this space. They make this corner a special and joyful space for our city, which has regained its essence after the harsh pandemic,” said the highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city.
“Today we inaugurate the Rincon de la Alegría, where the biggest players are the protagonists”, added Aznar, who has advanced that they will participate, as much as possible, in the more activities they can of this edition Feria. Thus, he explained that the elders of the Day Center and the Social Center will participate in a Fair snack, carry out a paella, attend the Mass Spraying, carry out traditional games and visit the Real de la Feria, among other activities.
“The elders of the Social Center will go to the Residence also to participate in the activities there, which is a place of meeting, laughter, joy and unique and special moments,” he stressed.
The Director of the Center, Ramón Paqué, together with the Delegate and the Territorial Director of the Imserso and the President of the Board of Government, Antonio Guerrero, have been responsible for the lighting.
The Delegate has addressed the attendees, thanking them for the assistance, participation and enthusiasm they put into all the activities, and has wished them to enjoy this Fair.
The proclamation has been read by the user Adeli Navarro, who has been praised by all those present, and has received a bouquet of flowers from the hands of Moh and Aznar.
The rhythm has been in charge of the Flemish School of Melilla that has flooded the Social Center of Senior Citizens, who, after the performance, have enjoyed a delicious paella.
