On Wednesday, the Children’s and Primary Education Center ‘Encarna León’ was received, which has been built on the grounds of Gabriel de Morales, so it is only in the absence of the first occupation license of the Ministry of Development.
This was announced by the Provincial Director of the Ministry of Education and Professional Training (MEyFP), Juan Ángel Berbel, in an interview given on Television Melilla, who explained that, in parallel, the administrative act is being carried out by which the Ministry of Education, once the school is built, cedes the property to the Autonomous City, given that in the case of schools, the ownership of the property is of local corporations.
In this way, “everything that is the management of cleaning, surveillance, maintenance… would be the responsibility of the local corporation against the teaching quota that is the responsibility of the MEyFP,” he reported.
As the Provincial Director has said, it is tata of a center of four lines and prepared for about 1,000 students. “It has similar facilities, in terms of breadth, to those of Juan Caro and the painter Eduardo Morillas.”
“Right now it is going to start, provisionally, with 310 students, that is, it is going to start with 12 units”, he announced, while explaining that, progressively, when families go requesting the center, “those levels where they already have 30, 35 or 40 students, we will be splitting them and making them progressively co-students”.
In this sense, Berbel has pointed out that levels will be progressively opened until all the units that this center has are occupied. So, right now, as soon as they have the first occupation license, the ones who are going to move are the students who are in the modular classrooms.
Regarding the time to move to the new center, the Provincial Director explained that it will be addressed with the management team “as we did at the time when they were in the classroom of the Youth House and were in the CPR” to know what is the best time to carry out the move.
“We usually take advantage of bridges or effective periods to do so,” he indicated and recalled that the Virgen de la Victoria took advantage of the month of July to move the administrative part of the building, while the students made the ordinary convocation and the extraordinary in the two centers in which they were educated during the 2019-2020 academic year and the start of the course was carried out in the Virgen de la Victoria.
