The Government Delegation hosted this lunchtime the meeting for the constitution of the Territorial Coordination Committee of OPE 2023, with all the agents involved in Operation Strait Pass (OPE), except the Port Authority of Melilla, which has been absent.
A meeting that has served to address the aspects related to this operation and transfer the guidelines of the National Plan to the territory to the attendees of the meeting.
Thus, among other issues, the adequacy of the areas surrounding the border will be addressed, for which on Monday a visit has been coordinated that will be attended by the Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh; the Head of Civil Protection of the Delegation, representatives of the National Police, the Civil Guard and the Local Police and technicians of the Departments of Environment and Infrastructure.
Another issue that has been addressed, and in which it will be deepened in future meetings, is the adequacy of the schedules of the shipowners as well as the organization of the pre-shipment to them.
In terms of health, health personnel will serve during the OPE in the Port with 5 personnel 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
The OPE will start on June 15 and will be developed until September 15, with two phases: The departure operation, which runs from June 15 to August 15 and the return operation that covers July 15, September 15.
The Territorial Committee has taken into account key dates such as the celebration of Aid El Kebir, which, as last year, coincides with the OPE and, therefore, foresees a greater transit of people and vehicles through the Beni-Onset pass.
The meeting, chaired by the highest representative of the Government of Spain in our city, Sabrina Moh, had the participation of the Territorial Coordinator and Head of the Civil Protection Unit of the Delegation of the Government, Mohamed Mohamed; and representatives of the Territorial Direction of the Ingesa; of the Command of the Civil Guard; of the Superior Headquarters of the Police; of the Local Police; of the Functional Area of External Health; of the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainability; of the Ministry of Maritime Infrastructure, Town Planning and Transport.
In addition, the Secretary General of the Government Delegation, Sana Abdeslam, has served as secretary of the Territorial Committee.
