In a few days the Polyvalent Center of Services for Elderly People of the Imserso, popularly known as the Residence of Elderly, will turn 15 years since its implementation. For this reason the Territorial Directorate prepares a battery of activities to commemorate this event in which they want to be protagonists not only the residents and workers of the center, but also the families and society of Melilla,
The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, and the Territorial Director of the Imserso, Verónica Aznar, held a meeting this morning with the Acting Director of the center, Ana María López Cano, and heads of the Residence to begin to design and coordinate these activities that will take place throughout the month of February.
“We want to organize a series of activities that do not only remain in a specific activity, but we want to involve all citizens, starting with the residents with whom we will hold a meeting tomorrow of the Governing Board, which recently has expanded the number of participants; family members will also participate, with whom we will hold a meeting to make them participate, not only in the activities but also in the design of them,” said Aznar.
The Territorial Director has made it clear that she is going to “reopen” the Polyvalent Center to society “because the Residence belongs to everyone”. “We will take advantage of the resources of the Vocational Training Cycles, in collaboration with the Provincial Directorate of Education, and bring to the Residence concerts, painting, art…” In short, it is about involving the citizens and making them participate in the party “that is going to take place during almost the whole month of February”, he has advanced.
In this regard, Anzar has appealed to all the workers who have been there over these 15 years, as well as to the relatives who have had a resident in the center, so that they can participate and contribute if they wish. “We are open to receiving any input and making a program that is special and that we all feel part of it,” he said.
