- The employment rate of the workforce rose to 87.87%, exceeding the 86.9% recorded in 2025.

The staff of the National Police in the Community of Madrid has increased by 192 officers during the last year. With this reinforcement, the region reaches a new historic maximum by exceeding 14,500 agents in active service.
These figures mean consolidating a sustained growth of more than 15% since 2018. Likewise, the employment rate of the staff improved in the annual comparison, going from 86.9% to 87.87%. This was highlighted by the government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, during the presentation of new agents destined for the region in the Superior Police Headquarters of Madrid, where he was accompanied by the Superior Chief of Police of Madrid, Javier Galván Ruiz.
“The incorporation is part of the sustained commitment of the Government of Spain to the National Police, to Madrid and to the safety of its citizens. Today we reached a new record high of National Police personnel stationed in the Community of Madrid. You currently serve more than 14,500 troops, an increase of more than 15% since 2018, well above the population growth of the region,” said Martín Aguirre.
“The Government of Spain is and will continue to be at the side of the National Police with what it knows how to do, which are more effective, more means, more resources and more capacities and always with the recognition that an essential institution for our country deserves. That effort, together with the extraordinary daily work of the Civil Guard, has contributed to making Madrid today a safe region within a safe country” added the delegate.
The presentation ceremony, held today at the Superior Headquarters of the National Police of Madrid, has had a training of the 192 new agents incorporated this year. Among them were police officers who had just taken the oath of office, police officers transferred from other destinations and national police students who began their internship period in the Community of Madrid.
