- The festivities in honor of San Miguel and San Francisco will take place from Monday, September 28th to Monday, October 5th.

The Subdelegate of the Government to the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, co-chaired today the Local Security Board of Guadarrama, together with the mayor of the town, Diosdado Soto Pérez. The meeting served to finalize the operation that will be deployed in its patron saint’s parties and analyze the general security situation.
The meeting - in which representatives of the municipal government team have also participated; Local Police, Civil Guard, Civil Protection and Community of Madrid - has reviewed the programming of the celebrations in honor of San Miguel and San Francisco 2026.
The official start will be on September 28 with the transhumance of oxen for the traditional bulls and the acts will last until October 5, with the fireworks closing. From the programming, the municipal planning has been exposed, which includes self-protection plans for the main locations, such as the fairground, the main square, the route of the closing and the fireworks launch area.
In addition, a special Local Police operation will be deployed that will work in close coordination with Civil Protection and the Civil Guard, which will strengthen its presence mainly during the weekend and the confinements, moments of greater public influx, and which will have the support of the Traffic Group. Adicionalmente, Guadarrama sumará de manera puntual vigilancia privada y cámaras de videovigilancia.
A secure municipality
During the Board, the security situation in the municipality has also been evaluated, noting that the accumulated data of 2026 reflect a stable evolution without great variations with respect to the same period of 2025. However, there has been a slight increase in the number of infractions in the month of August framed within the remarkable growth of the population during the summer period that reaches 60,000 people.
On the other hand, they improve the indicators of police effectiveness in terms of both the clarification of violations and the rate of detainees. Finally, in relation to the crime rate, it should be noted that in March 2026 more than 10 points were established below the average of the Community of Madrid, according to the Crime Balance of the Secretary of State in March 2026.
Thanks for the collaboration in the fires of July
The Government’s deputy delegate has highlighted the “exhaustiveness” in the analysis and planning of the different actors. In addition, he has thanked the support and predisposition demonstrated by the Consistory during the emergency declared at the end of July for the fire in the Sierra Oeste.
In this context, Trinidad Núñez has supported the decision of the City Council to suspend fireworks at parties in the event that weather conditions so advise to avoid fire risk.
