The security deployment on the occasion of the sports event Madring Formula 1, which will be held in the capital from September 11 to 13, will involve the daily deployment of about 1500 National Police and Civil Guard agents, as has been specified today in the coordination meeting of the device held at the headquarters of the Delegation of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid.
The operation will also include members of the other security, emergency and health care services.
One of the biggest challenges, together with the fact that this is the first time that this award is held, stems from the fact that the semi-urban Madring route is divided into two large areas with access and its own routes separated by the M-11.
On the part of the National Police, a homogeneous deployment will be maintained during the three days of the event of more than 1300 agents, mostly from the General Directorate but also from the Superior Police Headquarters of Madrid, who will be responsible for ensuring citizen security both outside and in an internal area, focused on crime prevention.
The Civil Guard, with a daily average of more than 150 components, will focus on the reinforcement of the executive terminal of the airport, and mobility, through the Traffic Group, with mobile patrols and access coordination in M-40 and M-11 coordinated with the Municipal Police of Madrid. In addition, the Provincial Traffic Directorate has prepared a special traffic plan considering that this event will have a great impact on mobility in the city during the three days.
During its development, a Coordination Center will be constituted and a specific Intelligence table has also been created for the analysis and monitoring of possible threats.
With regard to airspace, which will be subject to restrictions, an air coordination cell has been set up with the presence of Security Forces and Forces, the Air Force, ENAIRE and AENA, and there will be teams of drones and contradones, and helicopters available during the development of the event.
In terms of transport, in addition to the reinforcements of municipal services and Metro, Renfe Cerca will increase the presence of trains on those days and strengthen the stations closest to the circuit.
The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, who chaired the meeting accompanied by the president of IFEMA, José Vicente de los Mozos, and heads of the consortium, wanted to thank all the public servants for their work during the last months and has opted for the success of the device, given the long experience that the Security Forces and Corps of the region have in large events.
A lot of pre-preparation
The meeting was attended by representatives of: Casa Real, Secretary of State for Security, National Police; Civil Guard; Air Force; General Directorate of Traffic; Renfe; AENA; AESA; ENAIRE; Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid; Metro Madrid, Municipal Transport Company; Security and Emergency Area Madrid 112 and SUMMA 112.
Components of the Municipal Police of Madrid, SAMUR-Civil Protection, Firefighters and Mobility Agents have also attended by the City of Madrid.
The meeting focused on issues related to mobility, the main security risks linked to a sporting event of this type, the coordination tools that will have been activated, air traffic or access control, thus culminating a work of months of preparation in which various meetings have been held, such as the one that took place in the Government Delegation in March, or those of sectoral work that have specifically addressed each of the aspects related to security, mobility and emergencies.
