The Community of Madrid has registered during this year an increase in its Social Security affiliation of 126,318 contributors, which consolidates the increase in them since 2021. In these five years, social security in the Community of Madrid has increased its contributor base by 669,933.
The total number of affiliated persons reaches 3,864,266 in the Community of Madrid, the highest figure in the series of the last five years, adding in this last month 63,684.
As for the self-employed there are 440,162, while the special system of employment in the home reaches 91,515 in Madrid. This system entails the possibility of a benefit of up to 45% in the employer’s common contingencies for the hiring of household employees for large families.
As for the number of employees at ERTE, they reach 725, of which 373 are men and 352 women. Of the 725 workers, 19.7% are due to force majeure, that is, 143 are due to an unexpected situation.
National context
The good pace in job creation remains at the end of the year. This is so, if the seasonality and the calendar effect are discounted, there are already 21,864,699 registered Social Security members in the first half of December, after adding 501,292 members so far this year; more than in the same period of 2024. In the last two fortnights, there are 50,099 more affiliates.
Specifically, in seasonally adjusted terms, in the last year affiliation has grown by 516,814 jobs, a figure in line with both pre- and post-pandemic levels.
According to these data, the total number of participants has increased by 1,027,156 people in the adjusted series since December 2023 and by 1,573,322 since December 2022, before the entry into force of the labor reform.
