The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has visited Valdemanco today where he has been able to know the main demands of the municipality in terms of public services such as mobility or health.
It was in a working meeting with its mayor, Luis Navarro García, who was also attended by the councilors and councilors of Health, Waste, Celebrations and Education, who exposed the situation of their respective areas.
The municipal team has transferred to the delegate some of the demands shared by the municipalities of the Sierra Norte such as the promotion of improvements in public transport or the expansion of hospital services in the area.
In terms of security, the municipality does not have a local police, so it cannot constitute a Local Security Board. However, the Government delegate has proposed the creation of a Security Commission, which will allow regular meetings with the Government Delegation and the Civil Guard.
Even so, he has highlighted that Valdemanco has a crime rate 35 points below the average of the Community of Madrid (56.2 points). In addition, the statistics show a positive evolution, with a crime rate of 22.81 points in March 2025, 10.46 points less than in 2024.
He has also proposed that Valdemanco join the initiatives of the Government Delegation such as VIDOC (Integral Vehicles of Documentation) of the National Police that facilitates the renewal of the ID without the need for travel, and the program “The Administration Near You”, which brings different administrative procedures to rural municipalities.
The visit has ended with a tour of the health center and the public school of Valdemanco, which currently has 59 students and students of school age and 15 children between 0 and 3 years old.
Francisco Martín has also had the opportunity to know the natural wealth of Valdemanco. Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra de La Cabrera, the granite quarries are one of the hallmarks that have given fame to the town that has protected spaces such as the Laguna del Carrizal.
Since 2006, the town also hosts the Berrutti Foundation, visited at the end of 2023 by the government delegate, within the project #TalentMadrid Promoted by the Delegation to support initiatives and people who live and/or develop their activity in the region and who stand out in a wide variety of disciplines, artistic, sports, scientific or social, among others.
