The Local Security Board of the City of Fuenlabrada has met this morning in order to finalize the special operation for the Patron Festivities of the municipality that will be held from 11 to 17 September, in which an average of 150 national police officers will be deployed daily.
They will focus on citizen security work for the prevention of the most common crimes in this type of event such as theft, indoors theft of vehicles or drug trafficking. Surveillance in transport will also be strengthened, especially in train and metro stations.
They will be joined by members of the Local Police who, in the most intense days of scheduled activities, will be an average of 40-50 agents, dedicated especially to access and traffic controls.
All this with the aim of ensuring that the festivities develop normally and avoiding incidents. In this regard, the subdelegate of the Government wanted to highlight the fact that, in large municipalities such as Fuenlabrada, the coordination between the Security Forces and Corps in this type of event is “very much around”.
He also stressed that the festivities will be held in “a large city, which is safe, and in which criminal offenses have fallen, once again, compared to the first half of last year.”
The meeting was co-chaired by the deputy delegate of the Government of Spain to the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, and the mayor of the town, Francisco Javier Ayala Ortega. It was attended by members of the Government team, the National Police, the Local Police and the Community of Madrid.
New exhibition grounds
The main novelty of this year is that they are going to be the first parties that are going to be developed in the new Fuenlabrada Fair Park, a modern space of 200,000 square meters perimeter, which facilitates access control, and which has a separation of spaces, allowing greater efficiency in the surveillance work. In addition, it has a video surveillance system, with cameras that will be installed in strategic locations of the enclosure, and a viewing point in situ.
These capabilities facilitate the work of the agents and contribute to their coordination in the resolution of any incident that may occur.
