Madrid, August 11, 2025.- The deputy delegate of the Government of Spain to the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad, co-chaired today with the acting mayor, first deputy mayor José Javier Ruiz, the Extraordinary Local Security Board of Batres, in which the program planned for the festivities of the town has been revised from the point of view of security.
These are celebrated both in the urbanizations of Montebatres and Cotorredondo, where the activities began on Sunday, August 10 and will last until the 16th, and in the urban center, where the Patron Festivities “The Sacred Hearts” are commemorated, scheduled from August 25 to 31.
The subdelegate has placed special emphasis on the need to take into account all the recommendations to prevent fires and the importance of having self-protection plans in housing estates in the face of the risk they pose in the event of a forest fire, such as the one that Batres suffered in the month of August 2021.
Good evolution of criminality
In the meeting, in which the councilor for Citizen Security, Rafael Abenza, and representatives of the Civil Guard, Local Police and the Community of Madrid have participated, the security situation of the municipality has also been reviewed, noting that in the first months of 2025 there has been a 26% decrease in criminal offenses compared to the same period of the previous year, having a crime rate much lower than the average of the Community of Madrid.
In addition, the Government ' s sub-delegate has reported on the status of the request made by several municipalities in the area, such as Batres, Griñón, Casarrubuelos, Moraleja de Enmedio, Torrejón de la Calzada and Torrejón de Velasco, for authorization for the joint provision of local police services.
