- The government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, and the mayor of the town, María José Moñino Muñoz, co-chaired the meeting
- The government delegate has highlighted the good evolution of security data in the locality and has insisted on the importance of adding the maximum number of municipalities in the region to the VioGén system
The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has co-chaired today together with the mayor of Fuente el Saz de Jarama, María José Moñino Muñoz, the Local Security Board of the municipality, in which the security plan designed for the Patron Festivities of the municipality has been revised, which will take place from August 30 to September 10.
The meeting was attended by members of the Government team, the Civil Guard, the Local Police and the Community of Madrid.
This plan focuses on the places where the greatest number of activities and an influx of people are concentrated, such as the Plaza de la Villa and its surroundings or the exhibition grounds, to ensure that everything takes place in safety. In addition, the City Council has established the complement of private security for access to areas such as the enclosure of the rocks.
Likewise, specific measures have been established for specific activities such as the contest of paellas, the verbenas, the enclosures, the processions (especially for the one that includes bonfires and fireworks), and the charangas.
Security data
The Board has also reviewed the security data of Fuente el Saz, on which the government delegate has highlighted the good evolution of crime, which has been located in 2024 about 18 points below the average of the Community of Madrid. A positive trend that continues so far in 2025, in the absence of consolidated data.
Along with this decrease in criminal offenses, the levels of police effectiveness increase and, both factors combined, show these “good results”, something for which the government delegate wanted to congratulate the representatives of the Security Forces and Corps.
On the other hand, he has invited the government team to reflect on the need to make available to the victims of gender violence all the instruments available to fight this scourge, such as the VioGén system. In this regard, he has asked them to evaluate, together with the Civil Guard and the Government Delegation itself, to work in that line and thus manage to add one more municipality of the region to the system because “VioGén saves lives every day”.
Finally, he thanked the participation of his school in the talks of the Master Plan for coexistence and improvement of safety in schools and their environments.
