The subdelegate of the Government in Madrid, Pilar Trinidad, and the mayor of Soto del Real, Noelia Barrado, co-chaired this morning the Local Security Board of the municipality, focused on finalizing the preparations of the special device on the occasion of the next Patron Saint Festivities.
The festivities, which are held from August 1 to 5 in honor of the Virgen del Rosario, will once again gather thousands of people around a varied program that includes concerts, orchestras, rock parades and traditional events.
The City Council has designed, in collaboration with the Local Police and the Civil Guard, a reinforced security device adapted to the expected high influx.
As a novelty, the closure of the airspace during the events is established, preventive controls will be installed from the early hours of the afternoon and there will be permanent communication between the different police forces. The Civil Guard will provide support with all the troops of the local post and with additional units of the Command, including the canine unit. In addition, there will be advanced life support and a Violet Point to reinforce the prevention of male violence, as well as other resources to raise awareness and care for citizens.
The deputy delegate, Pilar Trinidad, thanked the work done by the Local Police and stressed that coordination between police forces is essential to ensure safe and quiet holidays for all citizens.
During the meeting, the evolution of crime data has also been analyzed. Although crime has increased compared to the previous year, especially with regard to theft, there is still a crime rate well below the average in the Community of Madrid, as highlighted by the Government’s deputy delegate who, in addition, has valued the high rate of clarification of crimes and police effectiveness.
