- Youth unemployment continues another month at record lows

Madrid, July 02, 2025.- The number of unemployed people registered in the offices of the Public Employment Service in the Community of Madrid has fallen by 6,571, the lowest figure this June since 2008.
The number of registered unemployed in the Community of Madrid is currently. of 291,341 compared to 298,211 in the month of May.
Madrid records a relative annual variation that reduces unemployment figures by -4.66 points compared to last year; while this variation throughout the territory of the state is even more favorable reaching -6.06.
By sectors
Of the total number of registered unemployed, 47,788 are foreigners, 16.40% of those registered; also among these people there is the decrease in the number of unemployed with a relative annual variation of -6.71. Last month the number of unemployed reached 50,281. That is, 2,493 foreigners have found employment in the during this month.
As for women, last May there were 167,484 women on the SEPE lists and the figure has been reduced to 164,444; that is, 3,040 women have found employment. Unemployment in Madrid is also reduced even among those without previous employment and in those over 44 years of age.
The unemployment recorded in the Madrid offices is also reduced in all economic sectors, with the services sector generating the most employment.
Previously unemployed people have also benefited as a total of 618 people have achieved their first job. It should be noted that of the 18,595 persons without previous employment, the age range is between those over 44 years of age. Among women this age range coincides, while among men there are not great differences between the age ranges without previous employment, only between 20-24 years could be highlighted
Contracts
In Madrid, 207,800 were signed compared to the 170,235 of the previous month, although the number of temporary contracts is higher than that of indefinite contracts, being 56.8% of all signed contracts.
Social Security membership grows
Social Security membership in the Community of Madrid rose 0.24% in June compared to the previous month, and earned an average of 9,114 contributors, according to data from the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration published on Wednesday.
In year-on-year terms, the region has an increase of 2.54% in Social Security membership, with a total of 94,904 more troops. Thus, the global number of contributors in the Community of Madrid reaches 3,801,539 people.
Of all the members of the Social Security in the Community of Madrid, 3,360,050 belong to the General Regime, 437,373 are autonomous, 4,117 are registered in the Regime of the Sea and do not have any contributors in the Coal Regime. In addition, 2,190 are registered in the agricultural sector and 93,638 in the household services sector.
