Torrejón de Ardoz has finalized the design of the police and traffic operation that will be deployed on the occasion of the popular festivities of the municipality, which will be held from June 20 to 25, at the Local Security Board that has been held today in the City Council of the town.
A reinforced operation is planned in comparison with the previous year, with an average daily of 200 national police officers deployed and the collaboration of the Civil Traffic Guard to coordinate mobility, in collaboration with the Local Police.
Co-chaired by the delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, and the mayor of Torrejón de Ardoz, Alejandro Navarro, has counted on the presence of the 2nd deputy mayor, José Luis Navarro; the councilor for Security and Civil Protection, Alberto Cantalejo; the general director of Security, Iván de Madariaga; the head of the Coordination Unit against Violence on Women of the Government Delegation, Eva Corrales; the judge decana de Torrejón, as National Police Guard.
With regard to security, the data for the first quarter of the year have been revised, which places the crime rate 20 points below the average for the Community of Madrid.
Torrejón, an example
In addition, in this Local Security Board, the Operational Procedure of collaboration and coordination between police forces to combat gender violence has been updated, further evidence of the commitment of the City Council to this fight.
This involvement has already been manifested through its integration into the VioGén system for monitoring and protecting victims, in which it has been operating since October 2022.
“Torrejón de Ardoz is an example of collaboration and involvement in the fight against gender violence that I believe should be extended to the region as a whole,” stressed the government delegate, while reiterating his request to the municipalities of the region that are not yet within this tool to take the step.
