- Between km 20,500 and 21,300 of the inner ring of the M-40 there will be the narrowing of lanes and the circulation will be limited to heavy vehicles.
- Exit 21B will be closed for all vehicles.
- The works will consist of the extension of the deceleration lane in a connecting branch between the M-40 and the A-4 so that the vehicles begin the reduction of the speed in advance when taking the exit 21B of the M-40.
- Affectations are expected to last until 06:00 h on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is going to start work on extending the deceleration lane of the connecting branch of the right road of the M-40 at km 21,200, to the right road of A-4; on the Supersur link, in the Community of Madrid. It is a work that has, in its entirety, a current budget of 202,714.35 euros (VAT included).
Therefore, and to ensure the safety of workers and users; the following effects on traffic will occur:
From 00:00 hours on Monday, June 30 (Sunday, June 29 at night), between the km 20,500 and 21,300 of the inner ring of the M-40, there will be the narrowing of lanes and the limitation of circulation to heavy vehicles.
From 00:00 h on Monday, June 30 (Sunday 29 at night) there will be the permanent cut of exit 21 B of the inner ring of the M-40 towards the A-4 with sense Córdoba for all vehicles.
To ensure the fluidity of traffic during such affectations, the following duly signposted alternative itineraries will be enabled:
- Alternate Itinerary 1: Detour of traffic from the inner ring of the M-40 Motorway towards the A-4 with direction Córdoba by M-31 towards M-45 “All Directions”.
- Alternative Itinerary 2: Transfer of traffic from the inner ring of the M-40 Motorway to the A-4 Motorway direction Córdoba by exit 23 of the inner ring of the M-40 and subsequent change of direction in the roundabout of the Avda. of Andalusia.
The affectations are expected to last until 06:00 hours on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

The works aim to improve road safety on the Supersur link by extending the deceleration lane of the connecting branch from the right road of the M-40, at km 21,200, to the right road of the A-4. With this extension, the vehicles that intend to take the exit 21B will be able to start with the reduction of speed in the deceleration lane itself and not in the left lane of the trunk of the M-40.
