The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility improves the service on the Extremadura railway line from June 9 with the introduction of a third daily frequency of Alvia train between Badajoz and Madrid.
This Renfe train will include a stop in Plasencia, both on the outbound and on the return trip, and will allow you to connect Badajoz and Cáceres for the first time in less than an hour, specifically in 46 minutes, a time that makes rail travel more competitive than road travel.
This third Alvia will be provided with material from the S/730 series and will offer 3,144 places in twelve weekly circulations to travel between Badajoz and Madrid. Therefore, among the three Long Distance services of the line will add more than 9,400 seats and 36 circulations a week.
The new train will leave from Monday to Friday from Badajoz at 6:36h and will arrive in Atocha at 10:46h, that is, one hour before the Alvia that until now carried out the first commercial service of the morning between Extremadura and Madrid.
In the afternoon, every day except on Saturdays he will return from Atocha at 18:09h, arriving in Badajoz at 22:28h. In this way, travelers who travel to the capital of Spain for professional or administrative reasons will have more extensive schedules to be able to make their arrangements. On Saturdays the train will depart from Badajoz at 18:10h and arrive in Atocha at 22:18h.
This Alvia will have synergistic seats at the price of public service on the Badajoz-Cáceres and Cáceres -Madrid routes.
Improvements in Real City-Extremadura connections
The Extremadura railway network will also experience improvements from June 9 in the public service, with the extension to/from Ciudad Real of the current services Regional Exprés Badajoz-Puertollano and Regional Exprés Puertollano-Badajoz.
It is expected that these tickets to travel from June 9 between Extremadura and Madrid or Ciudad Real will soon be available through the usual channels.
