- The goal is to improve the reliability of the section, reduce the cost of maintenance and achieve greater electrical performance.
- New energy equipment with modern design and technology will be installed to power the facilities housed in the technical signage buildings.
- Along with the installation of new Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems and switching cabinets, it is planned to implement a remote power management system to remotely control the supply equipment.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded 15.48 million euros (VAT included), through Adif AV, for the complete renovation of the current energy equipment of the technical signalling buildings in the Madrid-Lleida section, within the Madrid-Barcelona-Figueres High Speed Line (LAV).
The contract aims to improve the reliability of the power system, by replacing the equipment that powers the facilities housed in the technical buildings, which have been operational since the line was put into service in 2003.
In this regard, it is planned to install equipment of new design and technology. Specifically, the contract provides for the supply, assembly and commissioning of Interrupted Power Systems (UPS), power supplies, filters and stabilizers, as well as the supply of new network switching and distribution cabinets.
The renovation also includes a system for the centralized management and supervision of the operating state of all the elements of the energy system, which will avoid displacements for the performance of certain electrical maneuvers in the installation.
In addition to increasing the reliability of the systems, reducing breakdowns and their repair time, this action brings other advantages such as the reduction of preventive and corrective maintenance costs, the adjustment of the electrical powers of the new equipment to the real needs, greater electrical performance, lower climatic requirements in the energy room and the reduction of the spaces necessary for the same service.
This action contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), which has among its goals the development of reliable, sustainable, resilient and quality infrastructures.
