The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has definitively approved the route project and the public information file of the actions to reduce noise on a stretch of the A-6, as it passes through the district of Moncloa – Aravaca of the city of Madrid. The aim is to reduce the noise pollution generated by road traffic and improve the quality of life of the surrounding neighbours.
This milestone makes it possible to move towards the final approval of the construction project. The announcement is published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The project includes an investment of 1.9 million euros (VAT included) for the installation of 357 meters of screens in this half kilometer section where there are noise pollution problems that require the replacement of the current screens and the installation of new additional ones.
The projected screens will have a height of between 4 and 8 meters, depending on the section in question. The material of the screens will be absorbent concrete fono and methacrylate, except in one of the sections where conventional concrete will be used.
After this approval, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility continues with the drafting of the construction project, which will define such action with the degree of detail necessary to make its construction and operation feasible, as established in Law 37/2015, of 29 September, on roads.
The project aims to ensure acceptable noise levels in the buildings located in the indicated section, in accordance with the maximum levels contemplated in Royal Decree 1367/2007 of 19 October. Annex II. Acoustic quality objectives.
