Francisco Martín highlighted during the Junta that 2024 has been a very good year in terms of reducing crime in the municipality. Criminal offenses have fallen by 8% and the crime rate has dropped by 5 points from 2024 to 2023. The crime rate is 20 points below that of the Community of Madrid. In this regard, he thanked the work and collaboration of the Security Forces and Corps and stressed that “Madrid is increasingly a safer region”.
Prepared for the patron saint's parties
The municipality’s patron saint festivities will take place on the first weekend of May and will have an extensive security device in which there will be a reinforcement of the Civil Protection staff, as well as the police collaboration of other municipalities such as Daganzo. Service agents will work in three shifts and four different positions to provide greater coverage and surveillance in the areas where the festivities are held.
In addition, the city council of Nuevo Baztán will enable a Violeta Point that will be previously signposted as a form of prevention against any incident that may occur.
On the other hand, during the celebration of the pyrotechnic show they will carry out a special surveillance of the accesses by vehicle through the alloyed areas. The evening concerts will be privately monitored in collaboration with the Local Police. The government delegate also thanked the Civil Guard for their collaboration in this security device.
New Gender Violence Unit and Agent Tutor
The meeting also addressed the collaboration of the municipality with the VioGén system and highlighted the creation of the Gender Violence Unit and Tutor Agent, “one more step for this fight that belongs to everyone and deserves the maximum attention and collaboration of all municipalities with examples of commitment such as that of Nuevo Baztán”, said the government delegate.
