The delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, has presided over the signing of the project of collaboration agreement between the municipalities of Guadalix de la Sierra, Soto del Real, Miraflores de la Sierra and Manzanares El Real for the joint provision of local police services. The mayors of the four towns of the Sierra de Guadarrama have attended the event. The delegate mentioned: ‘’ We have launched this group of local police who will coordinate to offer more effective security to more than 32,500 residents of the region.’’
The objective of this Group is to support, through the resources of the police forces of the four municipalities, preventive and scheduled services such as patron saint’s parties, security devices and traffic campaigns. In this way, it is intended to offer greater attention and response to the interventions of its police.
The delegate also stressed that this initiative strengthens the collaboration between the State security forces and bodies, such as the Civil Guard, and the local police to offer a more effective and efficient service.
Through this Group, unified care procedures and protocols can be established for better care of citizens in addition to increasing the operational resources available to these four municipalities.
In total there will be 40 personnel who will form this new unit that, from this moment, will begin to work in coordination through technical sessions to carry out preventive programs in different areas such as drug trafficking and consumption and coordination of support in gender violence, minors and agent-tutor.
It has also been pointed out that this is the first agreement of this nature in the Community of Madrid and has been announced in the coming weeks, other municipalities, such as Cubas de la Sagra and Serranillos del Valle, will follow this same line of police collaboration.
