The municipality of Serranillos del Valle has today signed its accession to the “Protocol of collaboration and coordination between the State Security Forces and the Local Police Corps for the protection of victims of domestic and gender violence” of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces. This is a first step in the process of integrating the local police into the VioGén system of comprehensive protection for victims of gender violence.
It was in the course of the Local Security Board that the delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, and the mayor of Serranillos del Valle, Iván Fernández, co-chaired. Francisco Martín has assured that this is a “qualitative leap” that he wanted to thank both the mayor and the representatives of the Civil Guard and the Local Police, who were called to the meeting.
“We must continue to take all the necessary steps to be able to attend to the victims of gender violence and send the message that all women have the confidence to denounce,” he added, confident that Serranillos del Valle will complete all the necessary steps to complete their full incorporation into the system.
Crime balance
During the session, the crime data of the municipality has also been taken into account. The crime rate in June 2024 (last 12 months) was established at 39.35 points, which means a decrease of 0.22 in relation to the rate of 2023, being much lower than the average of the CAM (60.1), according to the latest Crime Balance of the Secretary of State of the Ministry of the Interior.
The comparison between the accumulated period of the year 2024 and the same time lapse of 2023 shows a positive result, with a decrease of 9.02% in criminal offenses, as a result of the decrease of offenses against the patrimony of 8%.
In addition, police effectiveness increased, with an increase of 7.27 percentage points compared to the same period 2023 of clarified criminal offenses, and with a rate of detainees and investigated for every thousand criminal offenses 14.70 points higher.
Agreement between local police
Another of the points addressed during the Board was the analysis of the processing of the prior authorization of the Secretary of State for Security of the Ministry of the Interior for the signing of the Collaboration Agreement between the City of Cubas de la Sagra and the City of Serranillos del Valle for the joint provision of Local Police services, through which its police will have competences in both municipalities.
A collaboration that the government delegate welcomes and in whose management, he has affirmed, will collaborate in everything that is necessary.
Objective: incorporation of all local police
This same month, other municipalities such as Ciempozuelos, Amelia del Campo or Aldea del Fresno have made progress in their process of joining the system.
Currently, there are already 38 fully integrated municipalities: Alcalá de Henares, Alcobendas, Alcorcón, Aranjuez, Arganda del Rey, Boadilla del Monte, Brunete, Collado-Villalba, Colmenar Viejo, Daganzo de Arriba, Fuenlabrada, Getafe, Guadalix de la Sierra, Leganés, Madrid, Majadahonda, Manzanares el Real, Moralzarzal, Móstoles, Nuevo Baztán, Parla, Villalix de Alarcón, Pozuelo de Madrid
