The Subdelegate of the Government of Spain to the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad, has today presided over the events that the Command of Madrid has held in commemoration of the Patroness of the Benemérita, the Virgin of the Pillar.
During his speech, Pilar Trinidad highlighted that the Civil Guard is synonymous with dedication, sacrifice and commitment to the safety and well-being of all Spaniards. “Your daily work, often in difficult and dangerous conditions, is an example of service and dedication that deserves our deepest respect and gratitude.”
The subdelegate of the Government has stressed that the Civil Guard has the full confidence of Madrid society. “In every meeting that I have had with a mayor during this time, in every meeting with the neighbors, you are always recognized and thanked for the security that it transmits to have you near.”
Likewise, Pilar Trinidad recalled that Madrid has more than 7,000 Benemérita troops whose “loyalty, dedication, discipline and vocation translates into a 1.5% decrease in traditional crime”.
These events, which took place at the Polideportivo de La Luz de Tres Cantos, were attended by the head of the Madrid Command, General Diego Pérez de Los Cobos, and the mayor of the municipality, Jesús Moreno.
