The Government Delegation in the Community of Madrid organizes the 2nd Edition of the Youth Short Video Contest Against Violence Against Women, which aims to increase awareness and sensitization of youth on issues of equality and violence against women.
The contest is aimed at students from all Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training schools in the Community of Madrid who are between 12 and 22 years old. Two categories are established:
- Category I: young people from 12 to 16 years old
- Category II: young people from 17 to 22 years old
Video content
The content of the videos must be related to gender violence, and may be related to any of the following issues:
- Detect violence against women around us and/or in the networks
- social and new technologies.
- Actions to eliminate violence against women in society and/or in women
- Social networks and new technologies.
- Prevent sexism, misogyny and hatred towards women among the adolescent population.
- Promote affective – sexual relationships among adolescents, based on gender equality, respect for diversity and tolerance.
- To promote support and solidarity networks among the adolescent population, in order to combat violence against women.
- Portray situations of harassment in the school environment on the basis of gender.
- To present stories of solidarity to combat gender-based violence.
- Show the importance of education to prevent gender-based violence.
Modalities of work
The recordings must be presented in mp4 format, being able to use the applications you want to make a video of maximum duration of 90 seconds, “reel” or “tiktok” style. One video per contestant is supported. In the case of not being able to be sent by mail, the use of WeTransfer is recommended.
The contest is open to individual participants and groups. Videos that have been awarded previously in other competitions or that have been made by people other than the author or that are not the property of the author will not be accepted.
In case there are third parties represented in the video, the respective authorization of that person will be presented (according to the sheet attached to the call, sending it along with the works that you want to present to the contest).
The person who participates in the contest guarantees that he/she is the sole owner of all the copyright or author on the videos presented and is responsible for the fact that there are no rights of third parties in them.

Video presentation and deadline
The videos will be submitted by email to the following address: concurso25n.DGM@correo.gob.es
The email will carry by subject: “II YOUTH CONTEST SHORT VIDEOS 25N”.
Two files will be attached to the message:
- The first, in PDF format, will include the personal data of the author or author (name and surname, date of birth, full address, contact phone, email and photocopy of the DNI/NIE). In case of being underage and/or appearing in the video underage, the authorization or authorizations that are attached in the bases of the call must be provided. The name of this file will be the pseudonym you use and the category in which you compete. (Example: Supernenas.pdf)
- The second file attached will be the video made to participate in the contest in mp4 format whose name will be the pseudonym, category (category I or II) and the title of the work. (Example: Supernenas.juntaslosuperamos.mp4)
The deadline for the presentation of the videos is from September 18 to November 14, 2024 until 23:59.

The jury will be composed of staff from the Government Delegation in Madrid: general secretary, responsible for the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women, director of the Education Area and staff related to digital communication, all of them from the Government Delegation in Madrid and experts in the field of intervention in the field of awareness on equality and gender violence.
The works will be presented to the jury anonymously to ensure impartiality.
Award Delivery
The awards ceremony will take place at the Government Delegation in Madrid (Calle de Miguel Ángel Nº25, Madrid). Those selected as winners will receive an invitation to the award ceremony with the date and time of the event.
Rights of works and assignment of rights
The works must be made with their own audiovisual material, and in case of using audiovisual material from third parties, they must have the authorization of rights.
In the event that the participants provide content protected by intellectual or industrial property rights, through the means made available to them, the participants assign to the Government Delegation in Madrid, exclusively and free of charge, the ownership of all intellectual property rights on the works, which may be exploited by the Government Delegation without limitation of any kind. Likewise, the rights assigned to all the works of the contest (whether they are winners or not) include, without limitation, the right of reproduction, distribution, public communication and transformation, as defined in the Intellectual Property Law.
