- On the table, the security data of the municipality and the incorporation of the same to the VioGen system
The delegate of the Government of Spain in Madrid, Francisco Martín, has met with the mayor of the town of Villarejo de Salvanés, Jesús Díaz Raboso, in order to review the security data of the municipality and reiterate the invitation to incorporate it into the VioGén system of comprehensive monitoring of victims of gender violence.
During the meeting, the mayor explained what future development projects are for the municipality, in terms of sports endowments or access improvements, which are already under study by the Government of Spain.
Crime data
The most remarkable thing about the crime data of the municipality is that they have reduced their rate by 1.03 points in the first quarter, so their crime rate today stands at 43.51 , a figure much lower than the average of the Community of Madrid, which stands at 60 points. Good data that the delegate has linked to the work and the good coordination between the State Security Forces and Bodies.
And this despite having registered an increase of 1.50 in the total of criminal offenses from 2023 to 2024 as a direct result of the increase of infractions against the patrimony of 0.97. In addition, 25.19 of the known criminal offenses have been clarified, which means a decrease of 2.63 compared to the same accumulated period of 2023.
VioGen system
In his meeting with the mayor of Villarejo de Salvanés, Francisco Martín reiterated the advisability of incorporating the municipality into the VioGén System in order to get its local police to participate in the follow-up of cases for a more effective protection of victims, reason for the letter of accession that he sent to the Consistory last January.
In total, 37 municipalities in Madrid have already joined the VioGén System. The objective of the government delegate is to ensure that everyone ends up being part of this system of monitoring women victims of gender violence, within one year.
