- The situation of the municipality and its incorporation into the VioGén System, two more issues than mayor and delegate have addressed in this visit
The delegate of the Government of Spain in Madrid, Francisco Martín, met with the mayor of the town of Amelia del Campo, Jorge Capa, in order to get to know first-hand the important projects carried out in this municipality of the east of our Community.
One of them, the redevelopment project of the Barrio María Jesús, has meant an improvement of the accessibility and semi-pedestrianisation of several streets of this neighborhood of the urban center. It was carried out in 2022 and more than four hundred thousand euros belonging to the European Funds Recovery Plan were invested in it.
This grant is part of the program of aid to municipalities for the implementation of low-emission zones and the sustainable transformation of urban transport.
The first project to be funded was the redevelopment of the Barrio de los Olivos, where the new accesses for emergency vehicles were prioritized and the extension of pedestrian paths, in which 752,134 euros were invested.
Another of the projects carried out was the expansion of the North Park with the opening of a pedestrian path for the amount of 105,912 euros, and a new bike lane in which 73,801 euros have been invested.
In 2023, Amelia del Campo achieved the best score of the Community of Madrid in the call for 2023 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. Two projects, 100% of the amount requested, have been funded with 945,560 euros.

Philomena and Youth Employment Grants
The Ministry of Territorial Policy agreed last year to allocate more than 900,000 euros of subsidy to Amelia del Campo to repair 50% of the damage caused to municipal infrastructures by the “Filomena” storm.
On the other hand, more than 200,000 euros have been dedicated to the Operational Programme for Youth Employment of the town, from the FEDER Funds, in order to give employment opportunities to the youngest people in the city.
The situation of the municipality, and the incorporation of it into the VioGén System, have been two other issues that mayor and delegate have addressed in this visit.
