The delegate of the Government of Spain in Madrid, Francisco Martín, has attended the celebration of the “Rural Pride of the Sierra”, a day organized on Saturday by the City of Lozoyramos-Navas-Sieteiglesias, with support from G-Madrid Sports, LGBIQ+ Association of the Sierra Norte, Pride Serrano and the Pedro Zerolo Foundation.
This is a pioneering initiative in the Sierra Norte of Madrid that aims to bring the Pride festival closer to the rural environment and thereby fight discrimination and in favor of sexual diversity.
The actress Loles León was the guest of honor at the proclamation, held in the plaza of the Constitution of Lozoyuela, where it was also possible to enjoy the performance of the singer, Mario Jefferson, contestant of the mythical program Operation Triumph.
On the balcony, the delegate also wanted to dedicate a few words to those present pointing out that: “Today is an important day because it reminds us of everything we have advanced, but we have to continue fighting because we are not going to open the door to any setback in the Community of Madrid. We will fight with all our strength.”
Program of the Day
From ten o’clock in the morning until late at night, there have been different cultural, sports and gastronomic activities that began at ten o’clock in the morning with the organization of a hiking route of eleven kilometers, to know the natural environment of these three localities.
At 12.30 p.m. a free guided tour of the Medieval Necropolis, an archaeological site located in Sieteiglesias took place and, at 1.30 p.m., the government delegate together with the mayor of the City of Lozoyuela, Javier Aunión and the actress Loles León, inaugurated the exhibition “Diverse Women” in the plenary hall of the City of Lozoyuela.
Shortly before 2 p.m. the proclamation would begin followed by an exhibition of regional dances and an aperitif for the attendees.
The afternoon would culminate with the performance of the charanga “La patata” and the retransmission of the Eurovision Festival in the House of Culture of Sieteiglesias
