The Government’s sub-delegate in Madrid, Pilar Trinidad, has inaugurated this morning, a new training session on the operation of the integral system of protection of women suffering from gender violence (VioGén system).
This training, organized by the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation, has been given by members of the VioGén Group of the 5th company and the Women and Minors Team, both of the Madrid Command of the Civil Guard.
The day was addressed to the agents of the local police forces of the two municipalities that have just joined the system —Guadalix de la Sierra and Manzanares el Real— and, as guests, police from Torres de la Alameda and Ciempozuelos have attended, who have initiated contacts on the accession procedure.
A total of 35 integrated municipalities
In addition to those mentioned, there are 33 other municipalities in Madrid that are already fully integrated into the VioGén system for the comprehensive monitoring of victims of gender violence.
The Government Delegation is holding talks with different municipalities in Madrid to incorporate their local police officers into this tool to combat gender-based violence.
On March 8, the government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, made a commitment to ensure that, in a year’s time, 100% of women in the region will have the mechanisms of protection against gender-based violence active and at full capacity.
