The Government Delegation in Madrid will activate a security device made up of about 1800 troops for the return match of the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League that will be played tomorrow, Wednesday, March 6, by Real Madrid and RB Leipzig, in the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, starting at 9:00 p.m. This meeting has been classified as high-risk by the Anti-Violence Commission.
The operation, which will be in charge of monitoring the areas surrounding the stadium to prevent incidents, will be made up of National Police agents —from the Police Intervention Unit, the Special Cavalry Unit and the Provincial Information Brigade—; the Municipal Police of Madrid; components of the SAMUR-Civil Protection; the Fire Brigade; members of the Red Cross, and security guards and assistants of the football club itself.
About 4000 German fans are expected to attend with admission.
To expedite the work of the agents, it is recommended that all stadium attendees attend in advance to pass the established security controls.
