The government delegate to the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, held a meeting today with the Cardinal Archbishop of Madrid, José Cobo, who was appointed to office by Pope Francis in June 2023.
Both have held a meeting to talk about the possibilities of collaboration between Archbishop and Delegation, especially in the field of social justice.
The government delegate was one of the authorities attending the beginning of his episcopal ministry, which took place in the cathedral of La Almudena on July 8.
Just a day later, his name appeared on the list of the new 21 cardinals of the Church along with that of two other Spaniards: the Rector Major of the Salesians, Ángel Fernández Artime, and the Bishop of Ajaccio (Corsica), Francisco Javier Bustillo.
