The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, visited this afternoon the town of El Vellón, where he was received by its mayor, Catalina Llorente Fernández and the second deputy mayor, Gustavo Agudo.
The meeting began with a visit to rehabilitation and improvement projects in different areas such as the refurbishment of the Plaza Mayor or the surroundings of the building that houses the Senior Citizens' Day Center, the House of Culture, the Violeta Point or the Adult Education Center.
After the visit to these points, the delegate held a meeting in the City Council with both to know the reality of the municipality in different matters such as security, highlighting that its crime rate is below the regional average, or the projects on account of the European Funds. In this last point, the mayor highlighted the EPA Program (Space, Landscape and Art), an intergenerational cultural project in which she has worked with both children and elderly people in the town. They have also told the delegate that, at the next call for European Funds, they intend to present a project to cover the fronton runway, the cable underground or to advance in the digitalization of the consistory.
For his part, the delegate has proposed that El Vellón receive the visit of the program ‘The Administration near you’, promoted by the Delegation.
