The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, wanted to convey to the residents of Villanueva de la Cañada concerned about security a message of tranquility, after the meeting he had today with his mayor, Luis Partida Brunete, to address the social alarm that has been generated in the municipality after a series of robberies.
In this regard, he pointed out that these are “specific facts” and that Villanueva de la Cañada “has always been a safe municipality”, with crime data that “evolve very positively” this year, “beyond interested information”.
However, a reinforcement will be carried out in the Civil Guard service during the coming dates and, in collaboration with the Local Police, the presence of agents in the streets will be intensified. All this within a “specific plan” for the neighbors to “feel” that the FCSE is with them. “We work with the greatest intensity to guarantee security in the municipality,” he added.
Message of tranquility shared by the mayor
The mayor of Villanueva de la Cañada thanked the “speed” with which the delegate invited him to this meeting and insisted that insecurity “is not a real problem” in the municipality.
He was also pleased with the measures proposed at the meeting, in which the Civil Guard also participated, to respond to the social alarm generated and seek “the best possible solution” through police collaboration and coordination.
He has also asked neighbors for their “confidence” to leave security in the hands of professionals, and has reiterated that Villanueva de la Cañada is a municipality “very safe, as the statistics say”.
