The Government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, gave this afternoon to Lourdes Rodríguez Galán, Director of Communication of the Civil Guard, and to the chief inspector Enrique Sacristan Romano, head of the Communication Office of the National Police, of one of the Human Rights Awards granted by the General Council of the Spanish Legal Profession.
This prize, in the section Media, is awarded for the work they do in the prevention of telematic crimes. These communication departments carry out different awareness and training activities for the prevention of crimes related to new technologies (internet, email, SMS, WhatsApp).
Through the Telematic Crimes Group, the Civil Guard investigates all crimes that are committed through the internet and telematic crimes. With the Ciberexpert@ program, the National Police, with the support of Telefónica, promotes a safe and responsible use of the Internet among minors and their families by warning about their risks.
XXV Human Rights Awards Edition
The General Council of the Spanish Legal Profession held this afternoon, in the Auditorium of the Madrid Mutual Foundation, the award ceremony of the XXV Edition of the Human Rights Awards, on the occasion of its Annual Conference 2023, under the title “Human rights in the digital labyrinth”.
The winners also include: the Public Prosecutor of the Division of Disability and Senior Citizens of the Attorney General’s Office, María José Segarra, for her work for the digital inclusion of people with disabilities and seniors; the child psychiatrist Amina Bargach, for the defense of the rights of migrant children; the association La Columbeta, of Cantabria, for its work in reducing the digital divide in the rural world, and the digital native medium “maldita.es” for its activity against misinformation.
These awards were presented respectively by the President of the General Council of the Judiciary, the President of the Supreme Court, the President of the Court of Auditors and the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts.
