The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, held a meeting today with the mayor of Guadalix de la Sierra, Borja Álvarez, in which they addressed the preventive plans promoted by the Consistory at the municipal level.
On the one hand, the councilor, together with the head of the Local Police of Guadalix, José Ángel Sánchez, have explained what is the preventive program against gender violence in the locality that seeks to pre-empt the aggressor and avoid possible criminal acts such as murders or disappearances of women victims.
On the other hand, it has shared the municipal prevention plan against disappearances for people with Alzheimer’s, cognitive impairment or neurodegenerative diseases.
Incorporation to VioGen
Francisco Martín has conveyed to them the importance of joining the Comprehensive Monitoring System in cases of Gender Violence (VioGén System) to strengthen the fight against gender violence.
In fact, the Government Delegation is following a line of work with the municipalities of the Community of Madrid that have Local Police to ensure that all of them are adding or renewing their adherence to that system.
The last ones have been San Sebastián de los Reyes and Rivas-Vaciamadrid, with a total of 34 locations.
For their part, the representatives of Guadalix have shown their total willingness to initiate the necessary procedures for its integration in it.
The incorporation of local police into the VioGén system aims to improve their collaboration with the State Security Forces and Corps (National Police or Civil Guard) for more effective protection of women victims of gender violence.
