The Municipal Point of the Regional Observatory of Gender Violence of the City of Velilla de San Antonio stars in the sixth episode of the campaign “Committed against Gender Violence”, which has been developed this week by the Government Delegation in the Community of Madrid, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
This Municipal Point is formed by a multidisciplinary team composed of a psychologist and coordinator, a lawyer, a social worker and a child psychologist.
Its head, psychologist and coordinator Aránzazu Cariñanos, tells us what her committed work against gender violence consists of: they have been working for almost two decades, since the Point was inaugurated in 2005, and has two main functions: comprehensive care for victims of gender violence and prevention and awareness work in the municipality and the entire population in general.
Comprehensive care for victims includes legal, economic, social, employment and educational counselling for minors, as well as psychological help, also for the victims’ sons and daughters.
The Municipal Point of the Regional Observatory of Gender Violence depends on the Women's Advisory Center of the Department of Equality of the City of Velilla of San Antonio.

The previous episodes of this campaign of the Government Delegation in Madrid have been starring, in recent days, the head of the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation, Eva Corrales; the journalist and writer Carme Chaparro; the VioGén system of integral protection of women victims of gender violence and their families; the 016 service of continuous telephone attention to women victims of all types of violence, and the young winners of the short video contest against gender violence, organized by the Government Delegation.
