The Local Police of San Sebastián de los Reyes has today renewed its integration into the VioGén system of comprehensive monitoring of women victims of gender violence by formalizing the procedures for ratifying their accession and signing the collaboration protocol.
It was in the course of the Local Security Board of the municipality that the delegate of the Government in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, and the mayor of the town, Lucía Fernández, co-chaired.
The incorporation of local police into the VioGén system aims to improve their collaboration with the State Security Forces and Corps (National Police or Civil Guard) for more effective protection of women victims of gender violence. With the ratification of San Sebastián de los Reyes, there are already 33 municipalities of the Community of Madrid included in it.
VioGen system
The Comprehensive Monitoring System in Cases of Gender Violence (VioGen System) for the comprehensive protection of women victims of gender violence was launched on July 26, 2007.
Its objective is to establish a network that allows the rapid, comprehensive and effective monitoring and protection of battered women, and their sons and daughters, in any part of the national territory.
