- The communicator claims the need to continue fighting for equal opportunities to face the negationist discourses that have permeated part of public opinion
The journalist, writer and presenter Carme Chaparro is the protagonist of the latest video of the campaign “Committed against Gender Violence” that the Government Delegation has launched during this week to commemorate the 25N, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The communicator, recognized in her feminist career with several awards, among others, that of the Observatory against Domestic and Gender Violence of the General Council of the Judiciary 2018, is this year one of the distinguished people with one of the Meninas Recognitions 2023 by the Government Delegation in Madrid for her commitment to the defense of women's rights and the fight against gender violence.
Carme Chaparro has claimed the need to continue with this struggle “more than ever” because he believes that some speeches have partially permeated public opinion. He has appealed to the responsibility of people with a certain visibility to “enlighten women who are afraid, who are hidden” and also to make young people “who control the mobiles of their girlfriends” see that this is a form of violence.
A daily engagement story
The campaign “Commits against Gender Violence” aims to publicize every day a history of commitment against gender violence. These commitments have so far been led by the head of the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation in Madrid, Eva Corrales, and by Carme Chaparro.
