- This match is considered high-risk, so security around the stadium will be strengthened
- 5000 Scottish viewers are expected to attend, more than 1000 of them without ticket
The Government Delegation in Madrid will activate a security device composed of about 1300 troops for the match of the fourth day of the UEFA Champions League group stage that will play tomorrow Tuesday, November 7, Atletico Madrid and Celtic F.C., in the Cívitas Metropolitano stadium, starting at 9:00 p.m. This meeting has been classified as ‘high-risk’ by the Anti-Violence Commission.
The operation, which will be responsible for monitoring the areas surrounding the stadium to prevent incidents, will be made up of agents of the National Police —coming from the Police Intervention Unit, the Special Cavalry Unit and the Provincial Information Brigade—, the Municipal Police of Madrid, components of the SAMUR-Civil Protection, the Fire Brigade, members of the Red Cross, and security guards and assistants of the football club itself.
The Madrid team expects a practically full stadium, with 60,000 spectators, of which 3500 will be fans of the Scottish club that have access.
To expedite the work of the agents, it is recommended that all of them come in advance to pass the established security controls.
