The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has held a meeting today with the mayor of the town of Velilla de San Antonio, with whom he has visited the logistics center that the supermarket chain Ahorramás has located in the town.
It is one of the two self-managed distribution platforms owned by this company in the food sector, together with that of Mercamadrid, whose main function is to supply all its points of sale, a total of 284 distributed between the Community of Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha.
Built in 2001, it is a reference in terms of process automation and is an important factor of economic development and employment for the municipality.
In addition, the headquarters of Ahorramás are located in Velilla and also here is one of its stores, which has also been attended by the government delegate along with part of the municipal corporation, the president of the supermarket chain, Eusebio Rubio, and its director of operations, Daniel Dieste.
The main activity of Ahorramás is the trade of food and household products. The company has more than 40 years of history and has a workforce of more than 12,000 workers.
