The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, witnessed this morning the exercises and demonstrations that have been carried out in the bullring of La Ventas during the XII Exhibition of Police Units.
The demonstration involved citizen security units –Citizen Assistance Groups (GAC), Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR), Canine Guides and Cavalry–, the Air Media Service –helicopter and Drone unit–, the Explosives Deactivation Unit TEDAX-NRBQ, as well as the Special Operations Group (GEO).
Francisco Martín, accompanied by the Superior Chief of Police of Madrid, Manuel Soto Seoane, and other authorities, has witnessed several exercises, such as the simulation of the detection and deactivation of explosive devices or a high-risk rescue operation in which the GEO intervened.
The day, designed by the Provincial Delegation of Citizen Participation of the Superior Police Headquarters of Madrid, is part of the activities of the "Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of Security in Educational Centers and their Environments", and for this reason students from different schools participating in it have attended as a public.
