- The government delegate thanked the citizens for their collaboration and the “tireless” work of public servants during the last hours
- In any emergency situation: “Citizens of the Community of Madrid can count on the Government of Spain and the public administrations”
The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has been able to know at first hand the situation and the damages generated by the passage of the DANA through municipalities in the southwest of the region such as Navalcarnero, Villamanta and El Álamo, in the meetings he has held today with the mayors and neighbors of these localities, as well as with agents of the Civil Guard and members of Civil Protection of the area.
To all of them he wanted to convey that, in any emergency situation, “they can count on the Government of Spain and the public administrations” to accompany them and solve the problems generated by them.
In this regard, he recalled that, although the alert has been reduced from red to yellow today, it still entails risks, so he has asked the people of Madrid to continue demonstrating the “prudence and responsibility” demonstrated so far and to continue attending to the advice and messages of the authorities “to avoid unnecessary risks”.
Likewise, he wanted to convey his gratitude both to the citizens for their behavior and to “all the public workers of the different administrations” for their “tireless” work to try to alleviate the damages and help the people who needed it, especially, in the case of the southwestern area of the Community of Madrid, to the Civil Guard, to whose demarcation this area belongs. He has also clarified that, at the present time, the main efforts are focused on the location of the two people who are missing, one in Aldea del Fresno and the other in Villamanta.
The government delegate has also reported on the request made to him by the Government of the Community of Madrid for the Military Emergency Unit to evaluate the possibility of setting up some temporary infrastructure to restore traffic at points where it has been interrupted, and which he has already communicated to the Ministry of Defence.
